Next Social Event, Wiener Roast September 13, 2008 at 6:00 PM.
Welcome to our news section on the SBYC site. Our lastest social event, the Corn Roast of the 2008 season, was held on Saturday night, August 16, 2008 at 7:00 PM. Virginia Sirgo along with an able crew of helpers set up the tables as Jeff Morgan provided direction on the art of shucking corn in preparation for the evening event as the cooker got filled to the brim with delicious ears of corn. As usual, Ginny wishes to thank all that helped prior to the event and those who stayed after for the clean up.
We had a good turnout of 65 to 70 young and old sailors for the dinner. The corn and food were absolutely delicious. Commodore Gary Lenhart opened the evening with some words of wisdom asking all present to identify and introduce themselves. After the round of introductions, Bob Kuchner gave the blessing. If anyone has additional pictures from the event, I will be more than happy to put them on the site.
